Making Maintenance Easy and Efficient

Maintenance is an important part of owning a playground and should be done regularly, usually around every 3 months. We have provided a checklist below to make your maintenance process easier. Composite Structure

  • Welds are intact and free of cracks
  • Clamp drive screws and / or pins are secure
  • No scratched, chipped or peeling paint
  • No broken, missing, rusted or corroded parts
  • No exposed components that can be pinch or crushing points
  • Deck and Bridge enclosures are intact
  • Metal parts show no visible cracks, bending, warping, or breakage

Slides

  • Enclosures are intact
  • No scratched, chipped or peeling paint
  • Metal shows no cracks, bending, warping, or breakage
  • No missing bolts, nuts, screws, etc.
  • No Rust or Corrosion on slide or ladder breakage connection points
  • Plastic is not cut or curled
  • All support/ joints / anchors are intact & secure

Spinners & Bouncers

  • No missing bolts, nuts, screws, etc.
  • No Rust or Corrosion
  • Speed regulators are intact
  • Moving parts are well lubricated and not excessively worn
  • No exposed mechanisms, junctions of moving parts
  • No components are posing possible pinch or crush points

Climbers & Ladders

  • Have no sign of slipping, cracking or loose rungs
  • Rungs are intact
  • All joints are secure
  • No rust or corrosion
  • No missing rungs
  • No peeling or cracking paint

Swings

  • All “S” hooks are closed and not excessively worn
  • No exposed metal on swing seats
  • Rubber sleeve of tire swing is in place and not excessively worn
  • Swing Chain is not excessively worn connection points
  • Connectors and chain have free movement
  • No Rust or Corrosion on chains or seats

Surfacing

  • Loose fill surfacing material is not scattered
  • Unitary surfacing is not excessively worn
  • Loose fill surfacing material is adequately deep
  • Border around playground is in good condition
  • Border is not loose
  • Surfacing
* Loose Fill (Rubber mulch, Engineered Wood Fiber, etc.)
* Unitary (Poured in Place, Rubber Tiles, Artificial Turf)
